This is not a non-profit fundraiser, but an advertising opportunity for your business to increase brand recognition. You will need to ask your CPA, but this likely a tax deduction.

In November 2024 (Lord Willing)our family will be traveling to Hawaii. I (Matt), Shane, and Marlene will be doing three different hunts on three different islands: Oahu, Maui, and Moloka’i. We will be hunting axis deer, hogs, and Spanish sheep, all wild, free range, and fair chase hunts. The first hog hunt will be with dogs and a knife only!

This trip will be made into a book, and will also be used for several magazine articles over a number of publications that I write for (Plain Direct, Plain Press, possibly Hometown Outdoors, and more). Some videos will also be made and distributed of the hunts and locations.

I am auctioning off the sponsorship, the highest bidder will have his business logo placed on my clothing, coffee cups (used while hunting), engraved on my 30-30 Henry Golden Boy rifle, my knife, and many other articles used in the trip and on the hunt. Any videos produced will have a mention at the start and end of the video of the sponsor, as well as links in the description to the sponsors website. The winner will also have one page in the front or back of the Hawaii Hunting book to promote their business. In addition, the sponsor will receive Matt’s 30-30 rifle (yes, the winner also gets a free rifle) used on the hunts, provide he passes the proper background checks and barring any legal issues.

Guaranteed Reach of Sponsorship:

• Minimum of 10,000 Hunting Hawaii books will be printed before September 2025. These books go all over and unlike magazines, are not thrown away, but read and reread. Any later reprints (we have already reprinted several books) will also include all your sponsorship info. Matt Snader currently has over 100,000 books in print already.
• Matt Snader’s YouTube Channel, Salty Alaska, has over 100,000 subscribers
• Minimum of six separate magazine style articles produced and distributed to at least 50,000 readers.

Consider: We feel like a sponsor benefits from higher level of reader awareness than a simple ad in a magazine full of other ads. Your logo and business will go with the reader through the story, as it is a part of it.

From the initial trip to the first article going into print will be at least two months, and the book will not be released until spring or summer of 2025. It is guaranteed to be released before September 2025. You get a case of books, each one signed an personalized. There are usually 24 books in a case (we never know until they are finished printing).

FAQs:

1. What if I don't want the rifle?

No problem-if you choose not to accept the rifle you will get a $1,000 gift card to Bass Pro instead.

2. This sounds like you are trying to get paid for hunting!

Yes, that is exactly what I am trying to do. If you don't like that, start writing books! :) There is a lot of non-hunting work and expense that goes into this project. For example, writing, and designing the books, the many magazine articles, and then all the shipping, etc. Sadly, there is real work involved in producing this.

3. When is payment due and what forms do you accept?

Payment will be due by October 30, as we need time to have the logos engraved and put on all the clothes, coffee cups, and other articles. 

In the event of the trip getting canceled, and not rescheduled, your money will be returned. In the event we do not accept your sponsorship for any reason, your money will also be returned. If trip proceeds as planned, but one of the hunts is canceled (due to weather, illness, etc) you will not receive a refund, unless all the hunts get canceled and there is nothing to write about.

4. What if the auction goes for less than $1,000 - will you still give away the rifle or gift card?

Yes, even if the auction ends at $5 that will be the case.
